If the riffs are so boring and bland, why the hell did I give this album a 35, rather than say, a 20 or lower? This album kind of reminded me of In Torment In Hell. Maybe nothing to worry about depending on the next album this year. I’m sure the hype for this album is big and definitely deserved. The guitar playing and drumming are highly technical and intense. It may not stand up to the standard set by what the band were up to in the early 90’s, but it certainly isn’t the worst thing ever. It’s almost as if they’ve musically depicted the thought process of a spree killer from the birth of the twisted notion to the act itself and ended with the orgasmic afterglow of a man enjoying his day’s work.

His style of melodic interludes deicide till death do us part what Deicide needed to progress and progress they have. I have to say that I don’t like this album one bit, I’ll just go listening to the other albums a bit.
But they were like listening to a whole other band performing melodic, progressive sludge or doom rock, or a less jangly, more accessible take on Gorguts’ Obscura, Ralph Santolla’s exotic leads slicing out over the fields of slowly diecide discord and discontent. The album even though being close to its dk stands out to be pretty different from it but we are not here to compare two albums.
I have listened to it for over 10 times now, and nowhere it becomes fascinating, as tSoR was, never does the energy just blast out of your speakers, as in the former albums not only tSoR. Tell me where Eric and Brian are, please?

Once a song is established, he never shuts up. By the beginning of the deicise millennium, the band seemed gone forever with two quite bad albums, but they came back with the new Scars of The Crucifix and The Stench of Redemption.
Instead of receiving critical acclaim, however, as one might expect, many fans were surprised and disappointed when they noticed that the song-writing which had become more prominent on it’s predecessor, had become largely stunted, while the overall riff-variety dropped and left many of the songs feeling lifeless and boring.

The reicide came out and I began to listen eagerly. Tilo feel if Deicide take a moment to step back and refocus themselves they can produce another quality record equal to if not greater than The Stench of Redemption and return to the glory they once had.
Venom Storm The Gates. Glen Benton just grows as a monster as well with his voice not faltering at all and continuing the brutal assault on our ear drums. Horror In The Halls Of Stone is my personal favorite off of the album, for I didn’t expect Deicide to write a 6 minute song, given how the boys like to be short, sweet and to the point in their music.

It seems as though the album really is just an instrumental background with a bitter angry Benton upset because his marriage is crumbling, at least that’s the impression I ceath when I listen to this record. For the most part, I agree with Herz, but I’d rate it lower. It’s hard to say, really. This album is less than average. Best viewed without Internet Explorer, in x resolution or higher. Amorphis Queen Of Time. This may be a case of playing it safe, but effect is undeniably felt. At the risk of sounding like a gossip column, titles like “Not As Long As We Both Shall Live””Worthless Misery” and the name given to the album itself all sound a tad cathartic to me.
They will usually do their own thing for deicide till death do us part bit in the beginning, have a repetitive riff or two for the remainder, and then close the song. As far as what this particular band has given us in the past, we’ve been given better, but DEICIDE sure hasn’t given their careers a bloodied abortion with this album either. The start was even awesome with the self titled debut and the following, unmatched Legion.
If Slayer has taught me anything, it’s that if it ain’t broke, then don’t fix it. Songs are longer compared to any other Deicide album and sometimes this might work as a disadvantage for the album because the songs might get a little repetitive.
